My purpose is to lead and to heal as I make a difference in this world.  I am called to the profession of midwifery to best fulfill that purpose.

Currently, I am a student in the UC San Francisco MEPN (Masters Entry Program for Nursing) program for Nurse-midwifery.  This first year is to become an RN (Registered Nurse).  The following two years will be for the Masters program.  Upon graduation in 2012, I will be a Nurse Practicioner specializing in women's health and a midwife.  The specific job title is Certified Nurse-midwife (CNM).

As a CNM, I wish to work internationally with underserved and indigenous populations.  Sometime within the next 10 years, I will establish a midwifery clinic in Cusco, Peru.  The purpose of the clinic will be to help bridge traditional birthing practices and excellent healthcare to better serve the Andean people.

While part of my career will include international work and travel, my base will be in my hometown of Mt. Shasta, CA for that is where my heart and spirit are truly at home.
